Washing line blues

After I posted yesterdays post, a lady came around. What she was asking was where was person X? Well the first problem was I did not know who person X, was and therefore I could not help her. I did start with saying, that I spoke a small amount of Greek, but this did not stop her, by asking more questions of me. She reappeared later with my washing that I had I put out, all now nicely folded. She then said something to the effect that that washing I had removed, so I could put mine out, was not the lady’s who is letting me use her house while she is away, but hers. I sort of said it was inside, the look of me encouraged her to go in and she found it, after she had gone, one of her smalls was still left behind. I put that in a bag for later on and she came back and she is now reunited with it. Phew! The kind lady I met the other day who fell off a motorbike and now has her arms in plaster to show for this, has lent me my own washing line thing.

Later on my Sifnos friends came around with courgettes from the plants I grew for them, that are not doing too badly, I expect it is a bit too hot for them. We had a lovely omelette, and then one of my friends went down to the beach and bought two ice creams that we had together, Ronnie licking out the bowls. I have met the nine year old Beagle who lives next door, his colours are so vivid, for a nine year old, that is unusual. He is typically nosey, pretty and fun.

I woke again early this morning, with my leg aching and it took a while to fall asleep. I am glad I have the urine  bottle, as I used it last night. This morning after doing my ablutions, I sat outside, it’s so quiet here compared to Syros, which is a proper big bustling town. Across from me, lives my Sifnos friends original landlord and the flat they lived in years ago.  The owner has a dog, Blackie ( should be called Mavro) who is fluffy and a tad overweight. The new tenant who lives in the flat has been taking Blackie for walks. The reason I mention this is because today they have the decorator in, and I heard the guy say the Greek word for animals and dog. He must have been warning the decorator they they own a dog, in any case Blackie has not barked at them and is tied up for once.

The sun rises to my right when sitting outside observing all of this, and then hides behind the buildings and ends up dropping into the sea, as can be seen. This means the balcony is not over hot during the day, and there is often a breeze. It’s amazing how much a  difference it makes when it finally says goodbye, it’s like, a light switch turning off the heat, but then the humidity can suddenly go up.

I have been using the New York Times Doodle puzzle for the last few days. I am usually getting the answer in four goes, but the last two days, I wasted a go, by not being careful with what I typed in. For example using a letter in my solution, where the puzzle has already indicated the letter is not in use.

If anyone feels brave enough to see the leg unbandaged, just message me! It’s not actually that’s bad now a lot of the blood had gone.
