Puzzling

It was a quieter day, luckily with a bit  more of a breeze, I think the wind is going to build up over the  next few days,  hopefully not so strong so the ferries won’t run. The Artemis seems to sail in all weathers, although I did get stuck in Syros for a day as it was so windy. I have a bit of potentially good news. The lady who runs the hotel I am going to next, has one of her in-laws living in a room after the other one died. So next to me is where they lived and she says if it was cleaned up a bit I could rent it, there would be no end date which is fantastic. I was thinking after the cage is removed it might be better to come back here to get myself a bit more accomplished on two feet before I try and go back to the UK. So that’s really good and it would be easy to move into. My Sifnos friends are going to try and have a look before we commit.

We have also been trying to finalise my travel arrangements to Syros. As  I am not a stretcher case, we can’t expect Ambulance service. So my friends are trying to make sure the ferry captain knows to wheel chair me aboard and then I will have a taxi take me to the hospital. Luckily friends of theirs are going to be travelling both directions, on my travel days, their little car won’t fit me in, but hopefully they can make sure I get sorted.

I have been doing well on the puzzle, but I have to keep my leg up, so it’s a bit hard sitting at the table. I have lots of the small creatures in place and a big pile of the big bird in the middle, ready to be sorted and put into position next time.

I have been making my own naked ice cold coffee, which is just simply instant coffee, ice cubes and water from the fridge. It’s very refreshing and you get that caffeine kick as well. Maybe when I come back I will buy one of the little mini whisks they use here to whisk up into a frothy coffees. They cost very little.

The church for this post, is Agios Antonios. It’s on the so called Donkey track between Hora and Livadi. It’s was started before WW2 and wasn’t completed until 1960’s. This is the only church with this name in Serifos, although it’s a common name there. It’s Panygri is in January, so I should be able to attend it
