Wednesday 29th June - Hora
So it was still windy this morning, but when I opened the blinds I could see it was cloudy. Cloudy means lovely sunrises and sunsets. So I decided to walk to what I am going to call the New House, that is the one I hope to rent. It’s probably a mistake giving it a name until I have signed the contract, but I want to be optimistic! On the way, near the church, I met this old lady going the same way as me but much more slowly. She was panting and sounded like she was in pain, I said hello and she replied and I got a smile. I carried on, I got occasional glimpses of the sunrise, the good news is my walking is better, the sunburn is improving at last.

When I got to the New House, the sunrise was not as I expected, it was not behind Hora, but ninety degrees to the left, so coming up over the sea. I was a bit late really, I think I will have to wait until, I move in when the sunrises are later and I don’t have so far to walk! I spoke to Hazel last night and one of the things I need to do is take ownership of the various bills like water and electric on the New House and I managed to find the two meters and took a photo of both. I also need to work out how to get the energy rebate. I also found a little aerial and a coaxial cable going into the house, it might already have internet installed.
Here is a view of Hora from the BBQ! I then decided to walk back to my current property, by way of the town. I am afraid, there has to be one more windmill sunrise photo!
I walked into the town, it was deserted. I walked past what is called the KEP, it’s like a local administration building. The coffee shop was closed, the door to the bakers was open, I could smell bread was baking. I walked up and turned right to go into the Town Hall square. Just near here was a little alleyway, I have never looked in it before, there was this old chest, rusting away.
I carried in, using my well trodden route, which is not direct to the church by my current house, but it’s the only way I have found to get through! I have photographed some of the buildings before, but they look different in the evening, during the day and now, early morning. I gave the Bouganville a water. Here is a new building for me though.
Finally I had a look at the building next door to me. It’s not being renovated, it’s a dumping ground for the work going on opposite but it’s a nice building anyway.
So I was pleased I was able to walk thirty minutes, my legs were moving quite well. However when I got into the house, the top of my legs were quite hot and pink. I got the two cool bag ice packs out of the freezer and popped onto the top of my legs, and left them there while I had my breakfast. As I was wandering around, I was thinking to myself, yes I think every is going going to be alright. It really is. I will pop into Livadi later on today.
