So our last day before

So our last day, before we all headed to the island of Amorgos. We dropped into the village of of Hironissos. It is near where the wind turbine is that I talked about earlier. There was a lovely beach, beautifully coloured water and a few tavernas where you could have lunch. I did take a little dip, I am not a swimmer, but I went in ankle deep, with their dog who loves going in for a swim. Unfortunately there was a cat that he took a dislike to, which ended up a nearby tree.

Moving to Greece sounds like a lovely idea, but accommodation I think is hard to find, as a lot of property is used for renting during the holiday season, or people who use it for second homes, and only use the property for a few weeks of the year. So my friends were lucky to purchase a house, it’s quite small but it’s got a lovely view from their terrace and they are not far from town. A lot of renovations needed to be done, but it’s all been done really well, the kitchen units were hand made by carpenters on the island. They really helped with certain language translations, with the other trades.

It’s a perfect Little House.

At wintertime the island is going to be quiet, most tavernas will be closed but a few shops and businesses will remain open. I imagine during July and August it is really busy and it would have been unbearably hot this year.  So here are todays photos, tomorrow we are off to Amorgos on the ship below.
