Final call

This leg situation is dominating everything and I sort of wish it wasn’t. It is taking up so much energy and effort, but maybe today there is a turning point. To have two more months of the cage isn’t a problem but definitely having a place to stay here is, as nothing is confirmed yet. At least four or more trips to Syros is energy sapping, so last night we decided to see if I can get a fit to fly certificate. We also looked at the business class seats and the ones at the very front of the plane have more legroom and I could sit in row one. I checked and in the next few days there are seats available. But hold your horses, let’s wait until it’s booked and the deal sealed! We have been disappointed before.  After the Medical Centre where it s agreed a fit to fly could be issued, we did some other chores and we had an early lunch, one of my favourite pies over here, the jambontitioptita.

If this is all works out, I will be going to the fracture clinic in the Royal Berks Hospital, hopefully we can get as much information sent to them beforehand like my exit letter and so on. One thing I am noticing, is my left leg is thinner and I don’t have the strength I had before. I am also not sleeping well, but I hope in a day or two that I will when a bit more certainty makes an appearance. Next doors Beagle has been around, he was so happy to see his human mum come back from work, she works in a kitchen and he decided she needed a wash from tip to toe ! There are lots of flakes of pastry on the balcony today, they will all be hoovered up when he is let out next time! I wrote a little note to the people who go to the Serifos Coffee shop and my friend read it out to them  the other day. They really liked it and wished me well!

Back to the Beagle, we had a quick game if throw the ball and he fetches it, he knows he has to bring it back, for it to be thrown again. It’s been super windy again, which helps with the heat, unfortunately the wind is going to drop tomorrow, when the Dog Palace owner is coming over for a visit.

On the church front, only one with the name Agios Vlassis, before we see the masses of Giorgio’s tomorrow. I don’t think I know it. It is near Mega Livadi. It’s looked after well, and has had a lovely bell added to it, that can be heard for miles around. The area gets foggy in the winter and is lashed by the wind, so no trees grow nearby. The Panagyri is February 11th.

I have decided, as we have now booked the air and ferry tickets that this will be the last post for a while. We travel on July 29th, on the ferry, an overnight stop in Pireaus, then a flight to the UK on the 30th. There are lots of fiddly bits to deal with between, but we have a week to organise them, well my Sifnos friends do. Loads of thanks to everyone who has wished me well, and acts of kindness that make me feel very humble, from all over the world.
